Formula 1 has garnered a huge fanbase over the last few years, owing to its increased publicity through various media, the Netflix series ‘Drive to Survive’, and many other ways. And to keep the sport interesting and thrilling, the FIA has decided to add more and more newer Circuits to the F1 Calendar. But this did not sit well with all the motorsport enthusiasts who are more in favor of the conventional F1 format.
Now, there have been reports of an alleged replacement of the Monaco Grand Prix with a newer GP because there are some more powerful and rich Circuit owners who wish to host a Grand Prix at their venue. But this mean, Monaco will never see another Grand Prix, and that is blasphemous for some of the F1 lovers as they have always looked forward to seeing the cars racing in street circuit of Monaco.
Some of the F1 drivers have also advocated for keeping the old circuits in the racing Calendar and one of them is Charles Leclerc. In a recent interview with speedweek.com, the current World Championship leader has expressed his hopes that the Monaco GP continues to stay in the F1 schedule as it is his home Grand Prix.

Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc is a Monaco native and the Monaco Grand Prix holds a special place in his heart because it is his home Grand Prix. Unfortunately, the Monegasque has not had any luck in Monaco in the last few years since his Ferrari broke down and he could not even start the race in 2021 and he had to retire from the Monaco GP due to a car engine issue in 2019. But this time, Leclerc has a powerful Ferrari to support him and he is looking to win the race in his own country.
Heading up to the Miami Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc spoke in a recent interview about how he is anticipating an exciting race in Monaco and wishes his home Grand Prix stays in the F1 schedule for years to come. He said, “It would be a pity and wrong not to have a Monaco Grand Prix anymore.”
Not only Leclerc, but McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo has also voiced his support for keeping the Monaco Grand Prix in the F1 schedule. His wonderful victory at Monaco Grand Prix 2018 as a Red Bull driver is one of the race wins that the Australian will never forget, and he admits to looking forward to racing in Monaco every year.
