Sebastian Vettel who is retiring at the end of the 2022 season has already started gaining a lot of interest from various teams of other racing categories.
Key representatives of Formula E and DTM have expressed their interest in having the services of the former four-time World Champion after the end of his current F1 campaign in Abu Dhabi.
Sebastian Vettel dropped his retirement bombshell during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend and ever since then, the rumor mill has picked up immense pace as to what could be on the mind of the German next.
It is extremely difficult for racers to stay away from the wheel for a very long time and if Vettel does decide to return at some point down the line, be it in any racing category, it won’t come as a huge surprise.
The 35-year-old has a wealth of experience and considering that he still holds the record of being the youngest ever F1 Champion, there is no shortage of offers for the F1 legend.
Moreover, Lucas Di Grassi, the former F1 driver turned Formula E champion is willing to have him in Formula E and the same is the case with DTM boss Gerhard Berger.

Lucas Di Grassi on the potential recruitment of Sebastian Vettel
Sebastian Vettel’s F1 career is coming to an end this year, and Di Grassi while talking about the potential of having him in Formula E said, “It would be a pleasure to have him racing with us.”
“But I don’t think it will happen!“
“Formula E is a very difficult environment, although with the new Gen 3 cars everything starts from scratch, so it would be the perfect time for someone to jump in and I’m sure he would be competitive.”
“It just takes time, Formula E is a very special racing series and you don’t have free practice sessions or test days, so it takes time, but it would be a pleasure to have him racing with us.”
Di Grassi believes that Formula E will be a perfect fit for him as it is in line with what he is trying to do for the world. In recent times Sebastian Vettel has made no attempt to keep his concern for the environment a secret and has raised his voice as to how things can be improved.
Di Grassi has further added, “We raced together many times, especially in Formula 3, and it would be great to see him racing here.”
“I think a lot of the sustainability talk in F1 is not really making any difference, like saying ‘don’t use fossil fuels and then being sponsored by Aramco.”
“Vettel has become, in recent years, aware of the state of the world and what he can do to make it better.”
“He uses his status as a sportsman to try to make the world a better place. He could just do his races and then stop and buy a boat and stay in it somewhere, so I think that is very noble of him.”
Gerhard Berger has also jumped on the Sebastian Vettel bandwagon and stated that he would also be willing to have him in DTM if he considers it to be the next best thing for him.
“Of course, I’d be very happy if he doesn’t forget about the DTM,” he said.
“But I could also well imagine that his future will primarily take place outside of motorsport.”
However, considering the way the Aston Martin driver has acted in recent times and talked about the sustainability issues around the world, it is the common belief that he is not going to take on other series of racing straight away and will way his options in every aspect before saying yes to something.
No matter what Vettel decides to do after F1, he will gain a lot of attention from the media and many people in F1 wish that he should say associated with F1 in some capacity for the betterment of the sport.
