Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari F1 driver, despite starting the United States GP from P12 was able to land his F1-75 in P3 at the end of the race, and while discussing his exploits has indicated that he is slightly pleased with his performance.
Charles Leclerc believes that a bit was left on the table, as according to him, he could have challenged for a higher grid finish had a few things panned out in his favor.
While discussing his Austin exploits during the post-race interviews, Leclerc added, “Satisfied in a way because we started P12 so a podium is a good achievement. Looking at the race it’s a little bit disappointing but towards the end of the race, we had a bit too much deg. We’ll work. P3 starting P12 is not bad.”
The Monegasque driver has made it known that he had a bit too much tire degradation by the closing stages of the race and ardently feels, had that not been the case, he could have potentially challenged the cars that finished ahead of him.
Charles Leclerc feels Ferrari is still behind the Red Bull team in terms of car development
Charles Leclerc, during the United States Grand Prix, was easily able to tear through the midfield pack, however, when it came to getting the better of the two Red Bulls, it was a completely different story.
While talking about Sergio and Max, the 25-year-old said, “It was a nice battle early on with Checo and then with Max. We need to keep working in order to challenge them more.”
After having his tussle with the Red Bull drivers at the United States GP, Charles Leclerc believes that Ferrari has got a lot of work on its hands if they are to challenge the Austrian team in the upcoming races.
Moreover, the Milton-Keynes-based team has secured the 2022 Constructors Championship at Austin and officially got both the 2022 trophies in its bag.
Ferrari showed a lot of promise at the start of the campaign, however, as the season has progressed, they have slipped backward and have been left empty-handed with three races remaining.
Considering how up and down the current campaign has been for the Maranello-based team, would they be able to get close to Red Bull in the remaining races?
