Having been on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah twice as a guest, Daniel Ricciardo revisited the show ahead of the Miami GP. The host, Trevor Noah asked the McLaren driver about the challenges of driving in a new circuit that he has not driven before and how do drivers prepare for such races.

Ricciardo responded, “It’s a challenge. There are circuits that I can drive completely in my head and visualize within a second. I don’t want to say it’s difficult, but in a big city – most circuits are in the middle of nowhere because you just need a lot of space – In Miami, we drive around the Hard Rock Stadium and it will be crazy.

The Aussie has been preparing for the Miami GP on simulators and described the preparations for the new racetrack. “It gives you the opportunity to possibly find something faster than the rest. As a result, the gaps between us maybe bigger.”

McLaren has made changes to their struggling MCL36 which has resulted in a turnaround in performance since the Australian GP. Lando Norris claimed a podium in Imola but Daniel Ricciardo finished last after colliding with Carlos Sainz in the first lap of the race. The Aussie will be hoping to make a decent impact in Miami.
