“It’s crucial to have a trouble free weekend,” Valtteri Bottas urges Alfa Romeo to get on top of their reliability concerns

“It’s crucial to have a trouble free weekend,” Valtteri Bottas urges Alfa Romeo to get on top of their reliability concerns

Valtteri Bottas

Valtteri Bottas started off this year after being transferred to Alfa Romeo, he and his teammate, Zhou Guanyu replaced Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Raikkonen after his retirement. Bottas looks comfortable in the new cockpit as the 1st driver of the team, and his experience in F1 has made the team score 41 points, which is way better for them in contrast to the 2021 season. The team had only scored 13 points last season, and an even worse, 8 in the 2020 season. This certainly means that Valtteri’s experience has made the team progress a lot, and even Zhou managed to score a point, but he has been struggling with the car lately.

Even though this year has been going good for the team, it could have been way better if there were not so many reliability issues with his car, with the latest one being in Monaco during the Friday practice sessions. Similar issues were faced by the team in Bahrain, Imola, and Barcelona, and similar issues cost him a position in the Miami Grand Prix, and as we are moving into the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku, Valterri says it is of utmost importance that the car remains reliable and is a trouble-free weekend.

Valtteri thinks that if the car is reliable enough for the upcoming weekend, it could be a lot of fun and the team could have a better finish. “Baku is a place with both good and bad memories for me, so I definitely hope to add some more of the pleasant kind this weekend,” GPFans quoted Bottas. At the same time, the Finnish racer also mentioned how important it would be for the team to have a trouble free weekend.

“We have been having some good results despite some Friday issues so far, and if we were to fix these, we could really see the full potential of our package. We know we can fight towards the front when we do it and it has to be the aim here as well.”

Valtteri Bottas currently stands 8th in the championship with 40 points, and his teammate, Zhou Guanyu stands 18th with a single point.
