“It’s open season on cheating now,” Fans lash out as reports state Red Bull to have agreed to a deal with the FIA over their Cost Cap infringement
Red Bull Racing headquarters
Prior to a few days before the Singapore GP, rumours started to flow in the paddock stating that Red Bull had spent more money that allocated in the 2021 season. This clears meant that the Milton Keynes based squad had broken the Cost Cap regulations but it wasn’t officially confirmed by the FIA until they released their reports a while after the initial rumours started flaring around. The benefit of the doubt meant nothing to the fans as they pushed for justice and were later joined by many F1 teams too.
This meant a lot of bad press for the Bulls along with a lot of social media hate directed towards them, their drivers, employees and even their children which was disappointing to hear. When the FIA found Red Bull guilty for ‘minor overspend breaches’ and a ‘procedural breach’, fans debated day and night as to what penalty should be given to them. While some suggest a mere fine, others want the team to be excluded from the constructors and much harsher punishment’s for the Energy drinks squad.
In lieu to this, a press conference will be taking place at 11:30 AM in Mexico, where Red Bull Racing could probably accept the terms of the offered ABA according to reports. After this press conference, fans and teams will possibly get to know the terms of their agreement which will also disclose the penalty that they may receive. Here is how F1 fans on Twitter reacted to this news.

Fans on Twitter react to Red Bull allegedly accepting that they breached the Cost Cap
In a few hours, we will get to know the more about this ongoing situation. It is a bit hilarious to see some fans spew so much hate on the team just because they had a minor overspend breach (approximately 1.8 million dollars over the limit) . However, it is evident that no matter what the outcome is, fans will never find it acceptable and nor would the teams. It is all up for speculation as we wait for a verdict from the FIA over Red Bull.
