“It’s pronounced SCREWDERIA”: F1 Twitter tears into Ferrari after yet another disastrous showing at the Dutch GP
Mattia Binotto
The Dutch Grand Prix was a disastrous one for Ferrari, especially their driver Carlos Sainz. The blunder by the mechanics caused Sainz to lose a possible podium position. Several fans trolled the team on social media and have called for a change in management.
The numerous memes that have surfaced, troll not only Ferrari as a team but their team principal Mattia Binotto as well. The fans believe that if a change in team principal were to occur, the team would perform better and more efficiently without making silly mistakes again.
Nico Rosberg, 2016 F1 World Champion and pundit for Sky Sports, went on record after the Dutch Grand Prix and trolled Mattia Binotto and his team saying that F2 and F3 teams have better strategies and pit stops than them.
Formula 1 fans have gone on twitter criticizing the Italian based team and calling them ‘Screwderia’ instead of ‘Scuderia.’ This goes to show the sillyness of the mistakes and anger among the fans towards the team.
Can Ferrari make a comeback and win the championship?
What started out as a wonderful season for Ferrari, quickly turned into one of their most disastrous seasons. At first it seemed like Ferrari were strong contenders for the championship and they were going to win it all, but now it seems like Ferrari are clowns unable to manage a Formula 1 team.
The numerous botched strategy calls, Pit stop errors, driver errors and reliability issues have not only cost the team a huge amount of points but have in turn put their championship driver, Charles Leclerc out of contention for the championship.
Unless the team buck up, own up to their mistakes and bring in considerable changes it is impossible for them to make a comeback and keep their hat in the ring for the championship. With 7 races left to go, every win is crucial for Ferrari and every mistake is going to be fatal and end up being the reason they can no longer win the championship.
