Red Bull and Ferrari both have been wreaking havoc on the grid with performances every weekend. No other teams appear to be close to them in terms of pace and overall development. And now, these two are engaged in a battle for the championship, each pushing their rival to the absolute limit.

In Miami, as Max Verstappen went on to take his second consecutive win after Imola, tensions in the Ferrari camp rose as the gap between the Dutch and Charles Leclerc has been reduced to 19 points. Now, the Maranello-based outfit is looking for answers to counter Red Bull.

Mattia Binotto, Ferrari’s boss, said“They are very good on the medium tyres, to be as fast as us at least in the very slow speed corners. And the reason why, it’s something that we need to assess and understand. I believe it’s in the fact that they have got upgrades in the last races that have made their car simply faster.”

After the first few rounds of the season, everyone came to a consensus that the Ferrari F1-75 is the best car overall and the Red Bull’s RB18 is the fastest on the straights. Other than that Mercedes was declared the third fastest with strong contention from others as well.

Speaking on Red Bull’s performance in Miami’s corners, Binotto said, “We are running a bit more downforce in terms of wing configurations: lacking speed on the straights but normally gaining a bit more on the corners.”

He added, “I think [in Miami] it has been the case [of being faster] in the corners 5/6/7, but maybe it has not been the case in the very slow ones – after 11/12/13. I think Red Bull has been very good in that respect.”

With Spanish GP coming up next, Ferrari is set to bring out the big guns to fight Red Bull. The team might be looking at unlocking more power from its engine and major changes to the structure as well.v
