Seven times NASCAR Cup series champion, a tragedy hit Jimmie Johnsons family. The parents of Jimmie’s wife Chandra, Jack, and Terry Janway, along with 11-year-old old nephew Dalton, were killed on Monday evening in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The police deemed it to be a possible murder-suicide. The NASCAR owner-driver of LEGACY MC has decided to withdraw from the upcoming race in Chicago.

Now 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button has extended words of support to his Le Man teammate and family. Button took to Twitter to pay condolences to the NASCAR legend. The Briton sent his love and prayers to Johnson and his wife, Chandra. In what is a terrible time for the Johnson family. He tweeted, “Sending love and prayers to my teammate Jimmie, Chandra, and the Johnson family at this devastating time.”

Certainly, Jimmie would appreciate these words from his friend and teammate. Button raced alongside Johnson at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year in the ambitious Garage 56 entry. With Mike Rockenfeller completing the line-up. The trio raced the Camaro, a modified version of the Next Gen Camaro NASCAR, at the race. The trio managed to finish 39th overall.

A tragic time for Jimmie Johnson’s family

The 47-year-old is a seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and is often regarded as an all-time great. However, Jimmie Johnson will take a break from racing for now as he takes some time off after this unfortunate calamity. The death of their family members devasts Jimmie and Chandra, and they have requested privacy at this time.

The entire motorsport world is hit hard by the incident in Oklahoma, with NASCAR extending support to the Johnson and Janway families. NASCAR’s official statement in the wake of the incident said, “The entire NASCAR family extends its deepest support and condolences during this difficult time to Chandra, Jimmie, and the entire Johnson and Janway families.”

Thus, Jenson Button passed his prayers to Jimmie Johnson and his wife, Chandra. The NASCAR legend would appreciate the support of his friend and fellow racer. In such a devastating time, the sporting world must send their love and support to a family hit by such a horrendous incident.
