German F1 icon Sebastian Vettel participated in celebrating the 30th anniversary of Nigel Mansell’s Williams car, which won the 1992 championship, at the 2022 British Grand Prix. However, he did so specifically using carbon-neutral fuels, as he strongly advocates for reducing F1’s carbon footprint on the environment. He ardently promotes P1 fuels, a company set on developing its fuel to maintain optimal performance and be environment-friendly.

Vettel asserted that the type of fuel used in the historic car does not impact its performance and emphasized the importance of maintaining these cars and their historical significance while adopting more environmentally friendly practices. Vettel also notably purchased the Williams car and its chassis at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Sebastian Vettel expressed that Nigel Mansell’s car and the early 90s era of Formula One held special significance, forming some of his earliest memories of the sport, and inspiring his journey into motorsport. Thus, the timeless Williams car dominated the 1992 championship and is set to retake the track, this time in the hands of Jenson Button.
