‘Just accept it’: F1 fans divided as Red Bull announce their intention to review the FIA’s budget cap findings

After some delays, the result of the budget cap audit have finally come out. The two teams who were rumoured to have breached the cap – Aston Martin and Red Bull are now confirmed to have breached the regulations. Aston Martin committed a procedural breach, while Red Bull committed that and a minor overspend.
The nature, or where these breaches have been committed are not entirely clear. And as of now, the FIA is still in tribulations about deciding a penalty. As it is only a minor breach, the penalty is unlikely to be severe, such as disqualification or a points deduction. Perhaps a fine, or a reduction of their next year’s budget cap. It’s an ongoing process.
While that goes on, Red Bull have also announced their belief that their ‘relevant costs’ remain under the 2021 budget cap. While they will follow the FIA’s regulations and process, they also added that they will be considering all of their available options. The response to this has been somewhat divided.
Fans with sarcastic comments about Red Bull cost-cap breach
Mercedes and Ferrari, through their two respective team principals Toto Wolff and Mattia Binotto have for a while now made abundantly clear that they want a severe penalty, even for a minor breach. Even a lot of fans (especially on the Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton) tend that way, some even wanting their disqualification from the 2021 championship. But that’s unlikely to happen.

On the other hand, some also blamed Mercedes for the multiple collisions as a reason for the overspend.
There are some rumours that the overspend is in the catering, and employee absenteeism. Some are now using these as base for poking fun at the whole saga.

Fans on Reddit also chipped in with their takes. These are surely exciting times for fans, well at least for those fans whose team has not committed a breach of the regulations. Some are just happy things are happening, and about what this means for the future, and some have their own sarcastic takes as well.
