The 2007 F1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen remains one of the most loved drivers despite retiring from the sport in 2021. The Finnish driver is renowned for his ice-cold personality. Raikkonen seems to have a bond with Canadian pop icon Drake. This was evident from what the Toronto native was donning for his concert in Florida.
Drake performed in Florida last weekend and posted the images from the same event on his Instagram. The 37-year-old was wearing a stylish outfit which impressed the attendees at the concert. However, Kimi Raikkonen and his fans were quick to notice some resemblances between the F1 champion and the pop icon’s pants.
The outfit that Drake wore while performing the concert was decorated with Kimi Raikkonen’s signature. Additionally, the pants had the number 4 imprinted which seemed to confuse some, as Raikkonen’s driver number was 7 in F1. The 44-year-old took notice of the trousers and commented on the post “Nice pants Mate.” The Iceman seemed to be rather cheerful about the pop icon wear a cloth resembling his autograph in a concert.
Drake’s surprising F1 connection
Drake is one the most world-renowned artists in the world, and his connection with Formula 1, especially the Stake F1 Team is surprising. The 37-year-old is a brand ambassador of Stake.com with a huge presence on the online platform. As a result, Drake announced the new identity of the Sauber-run team in Formula 1. This garnered around 22 Million views in just two days.
This was a big achievement for the team as this viewership is quite rare for a relatively smaller team in Formula 1. Hence, Drake’s involvement was very useful for boosting the team’s reach amongst the non-F1 audience. Alessandro Alluni Bravi asserted that this collaboration showcased the potential of social media for the different teams in Formula 1.
One of the biggest music artists in the world, Drake, announced our new team identity, We had 22 million views of the team announcement in two days, and that is a target we've never achieved with a single post on our social media.Alluni Bravi said, as reported by racingnews365.com.
Hence, such involvement from other professionals from their respective categories is a great way to boost engagement in the sport. Additionally, this would allow Drake to gain new fans from the F1 paddock. As a result, F1 could actively collaborate with other personalities to increase the ever-growing popularity of the pinnacle of motorsport.
