The 2023 Singapore Grand Prix was one of the most memorable races of recent times for a plethora of reasons. While Carlos Sainz stole most of the headlines for snapping Max Verstappen’s winning run, Sky Sports analyst, Martin Brundle was not too far behind as he snubbed Oscar Piastri during the F1 gridwalk. He has very recently made a public apology to the Australian driver.

During the grid walk antics, Martin Brudle caught up with Oscar Piastri to hear his views ahead of the race, however, as the latter was speaking, Brundle saw birthday boy, Esteban Ocon and completely snubbed Piastri. A lot was said about it in the media and seeing all the noise, Brundle has apologized to him.

Brundle while sharing his thoughts on the same via his Twitter handle, wrote, “Um, yes sorry about that Oscar, wasn’t my finest gridwalk moment in 26 years. Just wanted to wish Esteban happy birthday as he strode past, but you were DRS open and full battery and quite rightly dropped me like an Aussie Rules rookie.”

Moreover, being the nice guy that Oscar Piastri is he quickly replied to Brundle in a joking way and wrote, “Shall we finish that interview in Suzuka?” It is really heartwarming to see that both parties have seen the funny side of things in their Singapore interaction and kept no unnecessary grudges.

Oscar Piastri had a tremendous outing during the Singapore GP

While Oscar Piastri and Martin Brudle have made it known that everything is fine between them, the former did a magnificent job during the grueling 62-lap dash at the Singapore GP. Piastri started his race from a disadvantageous P17 on the grid, but despite this fact, was able to gain 10 places to finish his race in seventh position.

The MCL60 has been working brilliantly since the last few races and this is one of the main reasons why the Australian driver was able to make a pill off a mega jump during last night’s race. While Piastri managed P7, his teammate, Lando Norris performed exceptionally well to end his exploits in a brilliant second place.

The McLaren F1 team has been riding high on confidence and is being tipped by several pundits as the outfit that would challenge Red Bull in all of the remaining races. However, it can’t be said for certain as the Ferrari F1 team has also made a big step in the right direction since the Italian GP.
