Sergio Perez is experiencing a massive performance slump in the latter half of the 2023 F1 season. With five races remaining on the calendar, Perez needs to up his game to ensure his seat within Red Bull for the next season.
Formula One commentator Martin Brundle has weighed in on the recent drama and claimed that the rumors that there is an ultimatum given to Perez are true. He pointed out that the last five races, including his home race Mexican GP, are very critical for Perze. Brundle said if he failed to perform in those races, he might get replaced next year.
Martin Brundle said in a video shared on X by Sky Sports F1.
These next few races are very critical for him [Sergio Perez]. Red Bull can’t take a passenger into 2024 if he’s not in form...I can’t imagine that Perez would want to drive it either.
What did Helmut Marko and Christian Horner say about Sergio Perez’s performance?
Helmut Marko, an advisor at Red Bull, also commented about Perez’s recent performance. Marko declined the claims that Perez may be kicked from the team if he fails to finish P2 in the constructor’s championship.
