McLaren Announces A New Partnership Deal With VMWARE

Formula 1 is the most expensive sport in the whole wide world. The amount of funds needed to run a Formula 1 team and develop a car are huge. This has also resulted in a difference of budgets of many teams for numerous years. It further creates a difference in the competitiveness of each team on the grid and how fast their car is on track. However, the present season of Formula 1 views a cost cap each team’s budget being $140million.
The papaya team of the paddock, Mclaren is one of the biggest names in the sport. The Woking based team has a great heritage in Formula 1. Drivers like Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and Lewis Hamilton have all been a part of this team. Currently, it is the second oldest active constructor on the grid. Following the Miami Grand Prix, the team announced its partnership with VMware.
Mclaren and VMware : A Technology Driven Partnership
VMware is a leading provider of multi-cloud services for all apps. The firm will help Mclaren manage, connect, protect and deliver cloud based apps going forward. The partnership with VMware empowers McLaren’s operations throughout the F1 season for the team to stay connected and efficient at locations around the world.
The Director of partnerships, Matt Dennington expressed his views on the deal by saying, “It’s fantastic to be partnering with VMware, whose technology will play a key role in connecting the McLaren F1 Team. We operate at race pace on and off-track, and this partnership will help keep us agile across the apps we need, from any device and location, to bring our best on race day.”
The chief marketing officer of VMware, Laura Heisman added “McLaren Racing and VMware share a commitment to excellence and a desire to push the boundaries of what is possible to take on the biggest challenges. Through this multi-year deal, we will help drive innovation for the McLaren F1 Team in their pursuit of a world championship.”
The papaya team is based out of Woking, Surrey where they have the Mclaren Technology centre in the UK. At each race the team needs to transmit the on track data back to its base for understanding the car better. A partnership with a cloud based firm will help their cause a lot as it helps them be faster and efficient than ever.
