If the first four races were not exciting enough for you, then hold onto your seats as Formula 1 heads to Miami for the inaugural Grand Prix at the venue. Miami Grand Prix is added to the 2022 calendar due to a splurge in following for the sport in America, observed at the Austin Grand Prix last year. The circuit is build around the Hard Rock Stadium and its private facilities in the Miami suburb of Miami Gardens.
Miami Grand Prix is a highly anticipated race for every team and driver on the grid. Going to this venue, the teams do not have any prior data or knowledge about the track. The only idea any one can get is from the simulations and this presents a thrilling opportunity for every driver. However, building up for the Miami Grand Prix has not been as smooth as the local authorities would have desired.
Formula 1 Hindrances Prior To Go Racing At The Miami Grand Prix
The Miami circuit is a street circuit and the race weekend is scheduled from 6-8 May. The local residents of Miami had filed a suit against the Miami Grand prix earlier to try and cancel the race at their home town. The residents made a case of the ‘loud noises’ of the Formula 1 cars would cause noise damage to the civilians. The judge, Alan Fine recently gave his verdict on the case and stated that the extent of noise damage was speculative. Thus, Formula 1 clearing an initial hurdle that presented itself.
Recently, while working to ensure that the facilities are ready to welcome Formula 1, two workers at the Hard Rock Stadium were burned during an electrical accident. A Hard Rock Stadium spokesperson said, “an electrical incident, not an explosion, had occurred when work was being done for the race events from May 6 to 8 . The workers did not suffer life-threatening injures.”
The spokesperson further added “We will continue to monitor the situation and have been in communication with the appropriate authorities.” He also ensured that there was no damage to the stadium. Currently, Formula 1 has the green light to go racing in the streets of Miami despite the barriers it has faced. It’s race week and we are just days away from viewing the modern Formula 1 cars in the magic city of America.
