F1 Reddit reacts to David Schumacher’s horrific DTM crash

David Schumacher, the son of the former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, the nephew of seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher and nephew to Mick Schumacher recently suffered an injury to his spine after a horrific crash at the Hockenheim DTM event. The fans were sympathetic towards the 22-year-old German following his severe spine injury.

Comments were made such as, “Ikr. I’m surprised they didn’t go even more clickbaity by saying “Schumacher’s son suffers scary spine fracture”, which would be technically correct,” and, “And it’s not like Ralf was one of those invisible presences that only competed in a few races. FFS the guy has 6 race wins and 27 podiums, that’s not nothing.”

Others commented saying, “Legit came here to comment this. Just cause Ralf isn’t a 7X WDC doesn’t mean that he isn’t worth referring to by name – especially considering that Jos Verstappen is referenced constantly and he was barely an F1 driver,” and, “Imagine your son being injured and the press characterising him primarily as your brother’s nephew with some not even mentioning his name in the headline.”

The fans are devastated to hear about David Schumacher’s crash and pray for his speedy recovery so that he could race competitively as soon as possible.
