Mick Schumacher has disclosed that before committing to compete for Alpine in the World Endurance Championship in 2024, he consulted with Sebastian Vettel, the four-time F1 World Champion. After being dropped from the Formula One grid by Haas at the end of the 2022 season, Schumacher became Mercedes’ reserve driver for the 2023 season in the hopes of regaining his spot. Schumacher, who had to sit out the entire 2023 season, is eager to return to racing.

The son of seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher was forced to look into options in other categories for 2024 when no offers were materialized. In the hopes that he will soon have another opportunity in Formula One. Schumacher emphasized the value of keeping his relationship with Mercedes. Schumacher then said that before making the move, he took advice from Sebastian Vettel.
