Mick Schumacher’s days at Haas are over: Scott Michell-Malm believes Kevin Magnussen’s P1 in Brazil was the final nail in the coffin

Mick Schumacher, the Haas F1 driver, has been under the pump all season long because of his contract situation at Haas, and while there is still uncertainty around the German’s future, the Race’s Scott Mitchell-Malm believes, that his days at the team are coming to an end after Abu Dhabi.
Mick Schumacher during the Q1 session was looking decent enough to make it into Q2, but a late flurry of tire changes by the various teams caught Haas a bit off guard, and they had to rush its drivers into a change of tires.
But nonetheless, the team managed to get both Mick and Kevin out on track in time and while the latter managed to get his VF-22 through into Q2, Mick, on the other hand, struggled and ended up in P20.
Moreover, what would hurt the 23-year-old more, is the fact that Magnussen ended his outing in an unprecedented P1 position for the team.
Guenther Steiner while stressing on Mick’s outing added, “I don’t think he got the right feeling, didn’t know how to pace himself, it was just too slow, Otherwise, he did a fantastic job as well in Q1 until that lap.”
Have Mick Schumacher’s days at Haas really come to an end?
Mick Schumacher, since the start of the 2022 season has been fighting for his F1 future day in and day out, but unfortunately, things just haven’t panned out in his favor.
The Brazil GP was another example of it, where things just went away from him and he wasn’t able to make the most of the situation like his teammate, Kevin Magnussen.
Moreover, while Steiner has given mixed reactions about Mick’s outing, he has wholeheartedly praised the Dane for helping Haas get a pole position in 2022.
“This is the Kevin we all want to see, he had a few tough races after the summer break, and he was not comfortable, but when it counted today, he showed what he could do.”
Considering how ardently Guenther Steiner has talked about Kevin Magnussen, everything is pointing to the fact that Scott Mitchell-Malm’s prediction could come true in the near future and Mick might have to look at other options for next year.
