“Mick’s people are now looking at other options for the future” : Mick Schumacher’s future at Haas surrounded by cloud of uncertainty

Following Haas driver Mick Schumacher’s second $1 million wreck of the season, F1 journalist Joe Saward asserts Haas “would probably like a different driver next year,” but Ferrari may have the ultimate word. Schumacher, who is still looking for his first F1 World Championship point, collided in the swimming pool portion of the Monaco Grand Prix.
He veered off the road and jabbed into the roadblock after going off line by “10 centimeters,” according to him, before the pressure of the accident sent him across the circuit and split his car in half on the exit. He was unharmed, but Haas’ expenditure was not so lucky.
According to Saward’s weekly newsletter, Schumacher’s major accidents are “wearing thin for Haas, and there is talk that it would probably like a different driver next year, although Ferrari does have a say.” When it comes to one 50 percent of Haas’ line, Ferrari has the ultimate authority, with Schumacher a Scuderia-backed driver.
Possible replacements for Mick Schumacher at Haas
If they concur that the German’s days are numbered, despite the fact that he is now 28 races into his F1 career and has yet to score a point, the prospects from the Ferrari academy are minimal, with the team lacking a single junior in Formula 2. In Formula 3, they have Arthur Leclerc and Oliver Bearman, but that is a big step up to the racing world.
They parted ways with Marcus Armstrong and Callum Ilott at the end of last season, though the latter was said to have been taking a year off from the academy. Schumacher, on the other hand, is rumoured to be joining Aston Martin next season.
The 23-year-old is apparently in line to replace Sebastian Vettel if the German calls it quits from Formula One. “The rumour in Monaco is that Mick’s people are now looking at other options for the future and that Aston Martin might be a good choice for him because he’s German, younger and less hairy than Sebastian Vettel, and he is not too fast for Lance,” concluded Saward.
