Perez at 32 years of age is adamant that his best years in the sport are still ahead of him and believes that he still has in him what it takes to win a Formula One World Championship.

He feels he does not have to prove to anyone how good he is and wants to win the Championship at least once during his career.

The Mexican didn’t have the best of starts to his life at Red Bull when the Mexican joined the team last season and was on many occasions seen struggling with the car that he was given.

However, after the new regulations change Perez during the current season has shown what he is capable of and after 4 rounds is only 5 points behind his Champion teammate Max Verstappen who is sitting on 59 points.

This season Perez has looked like a completely new person on track and as an example of this, most recently during the Saudi GP, he was able to outqualify Max Verstappen and was able to land his RB18 on pole for the first time in his Red Bull career.

Perez has burst into life this season and at the moment things are looking promising for him. However, getting the better of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen is not an easy thing to do, and will be interesting to see whether the Mexican would be able to come true on his word or not, be it during this season or the next.
