Nico Hulkenberg, the Haas F1 driver, has talked about the currently in-progress summer break of F1. The Australian GP ended last weekend, and as things stand, the sport has gone into hibernation mode. This is something that has not sat well with the German driver. According to him, there should have been a few more races before the start of the summer break.
Nico Hulkenberg, after three races in 2023, has managed to amass a brilliant 6 points for the Kannapolis-based Haas F1 team. Considering his solid start, the German is not pleased with the break, and while talking about it, he added, “It’s not ideal. Now we have rhythm, now we have momentum – and now the plug is being pulled. It’s an early summer break. I’d rather not have that, but I can’t do anything about it.“
“I’m going to fly home comfortably, let the race sink in and analyze it, spend time with my family, and continue to prepare. The cars are quite physically demanding,”. \ He added, “Six points in the third race after three years of abstinence, gained a lot of experience – overall, I’m very satisfied after three races.”
Looking at the comments of Hulkenberg, it is pretty evident that he would have ideally liked to keep racing and not go into the in-progress summer break. However, despite this fact, he has acknowledged that he really can’t do anything about it and is going to spend his time off with his family. Hulkenberg’s all six points of the 2023 F1 season came at Albert Park.

Nico Hulkenberg can produce strong performances for Haas this year
Nico Hulkenberg, despite spending quite a few seasons on the sidelines in F1, is an extremely competitive driver. He has a plethora of experience when it comes to F1, and it has really shown every time he has gone racing so far in the 2023 F1 season. He still has got all the tools in his arsenal to help Haas in becoming a nuisance for the top dogs in the midfield of the sport.
Moreover, he has a reliable teammate at Haas, Kevin Magnussen. The American team has decided to bank on experience in the current campaign, and looking at how things have panned out for the team so far, the signs are there for Guenther Steiner-led team to have a strong season this year.
However, it is one thing getting close to the midfield teams, and it is a whole different challenge to stay in close range of teams like Alpine, and McLaren for most of the 2023 F1 season. Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg have got an uphill battle in front of them this year, and it is going to be fascinating to see whether the two drivers will be able to show themselves well in the F1 midfield fight or not.
