In recent times, Sergio Perez‘s performances have been rather underwhelming, especially when compared to the high standards set by the RB-19. Not only is he struggling to keep up with the skills of his teammate Max Verstappen, but he also appears to be unable to fully harness the potential of his car. This has prompted Nico Rosberg to step in and offer valuable advice to Sergio Perez on handling Verstappen.
Nico Rosberg mentioned that it’s important for Sergio Perez to switch off and maintain focus. Sergio Perez always talks about wanting to be champion, but Nico advised him to forget about that and take it race weekend by race weekend, session by session. He suggested doing a fantastic job, preparing well, managing risks, and rebuilding step by step.
“He’s always saying I want to be champion in the winter and it’s time. He’s doing it anyways, just forget about that, race weekend by race weekend, come to the race and session by session do a fantastic job. Prepare for it as best you can, risk manage out there and just do a fantastic job and rebuild like that.”

Nico Rosberg presents media management advice to Sergio Perez
Nico Rosberg offered Sergio Perez advice to disconnect from all forms of media. Specifically suggesting avoiding social media to shield himself from negative memes, comments, and questions directed toward him. Drawing from his own experience during the intense six-year championship battle, Rosberg emphasized the importance of taking a similar approach and focusing solely on the present challenges.
“He’s going to be seeing so many memes going against him, comments going against him, journalists giving questions that are going against him you know. So, you really need to separate yourself from that,” Rosberg said.
After winning two of the opening four races, Perez’s title ambitions suffered a dramatic setback. He faced a run of poor form, with five consecutive races without a Q3 appearance, ultimately leading to the disappearance of his championship hopes. In contrast, Max Verstappen started an impressive streak of seven consecutive wins, which propelled him to a commanding 110-point lead at the top of the standings.
