Oscar Piastri speculated to make his debut with Williams in 2023

Oscar Piastri speculated to make his debut with Williams in 2023

Oscar Piastri

Oscar Piastri, a 21-year-old Australian Driver, is expected to drive for Williams in 2023. Oscar is a 2021 F2 champion and is currently a reserve driver for Alpine waiting for his chance to get into serious business. Alpine currently has a driver pair of Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso, with a lot of debates happening against the 40-year-old Spaniard for blocking a seat for many young talents like Oscar just to get himself the satisfaction of a third world title. But it seems Like Oscar Piastri will have to move on a loan to Williams for a few seasons and rejoin as an Alpine driver in the future.

With Piastri joining the team we could expect any of the two drivers to lose their seat after the current season, and most probably it is going to be Nicholas Latifi. The Canadian has had a poor season since the start with crashes all along costing the team with bulk of cash just to see the driver end in no points. Latifi is the only driver on the grid to have no points this season, other than Aston Martin’s third driver Nico Hulkenberg. With a score of consistent poor results, Latifi was also on the verge of a dropout after a few races, but Williams’s principal had faith in the Canadian to prove everyone wrong, but that doesn’t seem to case until now.

Mark Webber, the mentor of the young Oscar Piastri, still seems to find other options for the driver other than a Williams contract as the last option. Mark himself drove for Red Bull back until 2016. He has taken hold of a constructor to build the career of Oscar Piastri and doesn’t seem to be satisfied with Williams as a career kick starts for his country companion Oscar.

Another option for Oscar could be, McLaren if Daniel Ricciardo seems to have fallout from the team after the 2022 season. Aston Martin could be another option for the young driver if Sebastian Vettel takes his leave from the sport. Alpine is the aptest option for the driver to drive since he is already accustomed to the car, this is only possible if Fernando Alonso decides to finally retire from the sport.
