The 2021 Formula E champion Nyck de Vries will return to the series after a failed F1 stint in 2024. He joined Scuderia AlphaTauri as their driver for the 2023 season. However, due to disappointing results, Daniel Ricciardo replaced him midway through the season. De Vries is set to make a comeback in Formula E with Mahindra Racing next year.
Mahindra Racing holds the distinction of being the sole Indian team in Formula E that has retained its original identity. As one of the founding teams, Mahindra Racing entered Formula E in the 2014 season. Looking ahead to the 2024 season, the team has secured Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara with multi-year contracts. De Vries is expected to bring valuable experience from his Formula 1 journey, providing the team with significant expertise.
Mahindra Racing CEO Frédéric Bertrand expressed his confidence in the team’s new lineup for the 2024 season, believing that experienced drivers like Nyck de Vries have the potential to be among the leading teams. “With their speed and experience, Nyck and Edo will play a key role in driving the team towards that goal, and I know everybody is feeling very motivated to work with them. We are all embarking on a journey to bring Mahindra Racing back to the front of the grid in the coming years,” said Frédéric Bertrand.
