With the FIA bringing in new regulations for the 2026 F1 season, German car manufacturers Porsche and Audi have been looking for a way to enter the sport by partnering with the current teams on the grid. In order for them to have any prospects of joining F1 in an official capacity they needed approval from their parent company Volkswagen.

After securing approval from Volkswagen, Porsche went on to have talks with Red Bull about partnering with them for the 2026 season while Audi went on to have talks with the Alfa Romeo Sauber team. While Audi reached a consensus with Alfa Romeo for the 2026 season which benefits both sides greatly, Porsche’s talks with Red Bull turned sour and it seemed to everyone that their doors to F1 were closed for good.

However, there have been rumours that Porsche has been exploring their options with other teams in order to find a team to partner with for the 2026 season.

The fans are excited at the prospect of seeing Porsche join the world of F1 and would love to see them partner with a top team for the 2026 season.

While it is unclear as to which teams Porsche has lined up, one can only speculate which teams would be willing to partner with the German manufacturer. One prospective candidate would be the Williams team which has been sitting dead last in the constructor standings.

However, if they do partner with Porsche that would void their deal with Mercedes and Porsche would become their sole engine manufacturer which could possibly help them reach the front of the grid.
