On a weekend where Red Bull could seal the F1 constructors championship, this news won’t be sitting well with the whole team.
When the news initially broke out, the team called all of its staff in the motorhome where the news was delivered to everyone. The team themselves confirmed this news which was initially made known 45 minutes before qualifying takes place at COTA.
Dietrich had a significant impact on F1. Having bought out Jaguar, no one took the newly established Red Bull team at first but soo they got to known that they weren’t here just to have fun. They were here to win and have fun while doing the same and apparently their formula has worked ever since. More than a decade later, Red Bull have won their 6th driver’s championship and are on their way to get their 5th constructors championship in the bag.
Dietrich Mateschitz didn’t have a wife but he did have a son whom he leaves behind. After living a glorious life and having broken multiple barriers of success, the marketing genius took his last breath on Saturday. Dietrich leaves behind a legacy that will be really hard to replicate.
