VisaCashAppRB previously known as AlphaTauri brought about multiple changes to the team and management ahead of the 2024 season. However, the previous name was loved by the majority of the fans in Formula 1. Hence as the team rebrands to a somewhat unconventional name, CEO Peter Bayer highlights the real reason behind this.

After weeks of rumors about AlphaTauri’s rebranding to Racing Bulls, the team sealed the new name as VisaCashAppRB for the team. According to Bayer, the main reason for this change was to associate more with the mother team and get the ‘Bull’ back for the team. Apart from this, the Racing Bulls indicate the Flying Bulls, the collection of planes that the former Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz had.

The reality is that we said from the beginning last year that we would get closer to the Red Bull family. We wanted to get the Bull and the RB back, and within the Red Bull family are the Flying Bulls, which is the collection of planes that Mr. Mateschitz had.
Bayer told racingnews365.com.

Additionally, changing the entire direction of the team was a mountainous task for Faenza as they had to change the name of the company alongside every little detail and even the tax office. Apart from this, Racing Bulls would provide VCARB with an identity for themselves in the sport later when the sponsors would change for the team.

Then someone in the company said, 'Why don't we call these Racing Bulls boys, so they have an identity they can build on when the sponsors change? We had to change everything: the name of the company and every detail of it, including the tax office; so it was a great effort,

Also, RB in the name suggests Red Bull as well as Racing Bulls and hence works both ways. Additionally, Visa and CashApp were two sponsors who were looking forward to contributing to the title of the team in the sport. Moreover, nobody in the paddock calls Aston Martin by their entire name and sponsors much like Haas, hence the reason to put ‘VCARB’ as the team name according to Bayer.

We thought, 'Okay, well, Visa Cash App RB Formula 1 Team'. I don't hear many people calling Aston Martin, Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula 1 Team; Moneygram Haas Formula 1 Team; so we just have to be realistic and focus on the content.

VisaCashAppRB to have more synergy with Red Bull

VisaCashAppRB’s main goal heading into the 2024 season is to resemble and resonate more with the mother team Red Bull in the sport. Currently, Milton Keynes is at its peak with back-to-back drivers’ and constructors’ championships. Hence, with major changes to the team’s top roles, VCARB aims to follow in the footsteps of Red Bull in Formula 1 and deliver better results.

VCARB’s drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda have also worked continuously over the winter break to perform at their A-game and deliver great results. Additionally, the massive mid-season changes to the team had hampered the team’s performance in the entire season and hence they couldn’t deliver the best results. Regardless, the team will definitely show massive improvements in pace and performance in the 2024 season.
