Report: Ferrari’s upcoming updates not expected to solve reliability issues

The Ferrari F1-75

Before the Belgian or Italian Grand Prix, Maranello-based racing team Scuderia Ferrari will provide a fresh update to the hybrid portion of the engine. The part where the engine keeps failing though, is not here.

The F1 engine’s progress will be gradually halted in 2022. Only the hybrid component of the engine may now be enhanced by the makers. Before the entire engine must endure till 2025, the timeframe for that is this September.

It is no surprise that before the development was paused, Ferrari did everything it can to undertake all the possibilities with the new components. According to Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto, who spoke to the Italian media, the team’s numerous failures and issues with the ICE, MGU-K, MGU-H, and TC cannot be resolved overnight.\

With the multiple modifications, the Ferrari is moving faster, but the malfunctions are hurting even more. Ferrari will replace the hybrid component of the engine before the Belgian or Italian Grand Prix, but that is not where the reliability issues. Therefore, the question is to what extent this will hurt the team’s chances of winning a championship in the upcoming seasons.
