Nyck de Vries has become the talk of the town since his impressive exploits during the Italian Grand Prix, and more recently, his name has picked up even more pace with the rumor swirling that he is in line to secure Pierre Gasly’s AlphaTauri seat for the 2023 F1 season.
Nyck de Vries was called in as a last-minute substitute for the Williams team in Monza, and despite that, was able to race extremely well and managed to end his race with a respectable P9 finish.
Moreover, what made the Dutchman’s result great was the fact that he was able to fend off the challenges of faster cars that were breathing down his neck throughout the race.
The 27-year-old, after the race, garnered a lot of praise for his exploits and has put himself on the radar of many F1 teams that are looking to fill the racing seats on their respective teams.
AlphaTauri, at the moment, has officially got Pierre Gasly on its books for 2023, but there are very strong rumors that he is well on his way to the Alpine F1 team for next year.

Nyck de Vries would be an ideal replacement for Pierre Gasly
Pierre Gasly has been in the Red Bull stable of drivers for many years, and as things stand, there are very less chances that he would be given a second shot at the seat on the Milton-Keynes-based team.
Hence the Frenchman is assessing his options and sees Alpine as a potentially good fit for him. With Gasly seeing his future elsewhere for next year, his seat at AlphaTauri can become available very soon, and if rumors are to be believed, there are good chances that Helmut Marko and Co. can approach de Vries to drive for AlphaTauri next season.
De Vries is currently doing his duties as the reserve driver of the Mercedes team and has been backed by many pundits of the sport to do well in F1 if he is given an opportunity.
