Sebastian Vettel is currently in talks with Aston Martin with regards to his future with the team. His contract with the British team will be ending this year. Still it is unclear whether Vettel will stay with Aston Martin, move to another team or retire from the sport with all three being equally probable at the moment.

During the French GP Thursday press conference, the German driver revealed that he intends to add at least one year to his contract with Aston Martin which would confirm the name ‘ Sebastian Vettel’ being on the grid for yet another year.

At the start of the season, Sebastian  Vettel had said that he would decide his future with Aston Martin based on how they progress during the 2022 season. The 22 Aston Martin did not meet expectations and was possibly the slowest car on the grid for many races being even slower than the likes of Williams and Haas. While Haas have shown a good amount of progress by getting double points finishes two races in a row, it still feels like a luxury for Aston Martin to even score points.

With 11 races over, Aston Martin has shown a bit of progress under the leadership of Mike Krack although will it be enough?  Sebastian Vettel was also linked to a move with Mclaren where the german rider would replace Daniel Ricciardo. Seb dismissed those rumours and said that they were false. Zak Brown has previously confirmed that Daniel Ricciardo would be with the team for another year.

Out of all parties involved, it is Aston Martin who will be most eager to see Sebastian Vettel racing for the team in the 2023 season. It all depends on how the team tackles the remaining races.
