Sergio Perez signs two-year contract extension with Red Bull
Sergio Perez grabs pole position for Saudi Arabia GP
This seems to be a lucky time for Mexican driver Sergio Perez, who recently won the third Grand Prix of his entire F1 career at the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend, in a tumultuous race at the Principality. Perez who had signed with Red Bull towards the end of 2020 for a two-year-deal with the Milton-Keynnes-based team, has excelled in his role as an RB driver, and hence he has been renewed for another two-year contract which will terminate in 2024.
Much to the glee of all Checo Perez fans, Red Bull executives have analysed Sergio Perez’s performance in all the races where he has driven for Red Bull, and they are beyond impressed. Hence, they have decided to go into another contract with him. This means that the Mexican will be driving for Red Bull for at least two more years, and the deal might be extended further.
As one of the most experienced and humble racers in the grid, Sergio Perez’s talent and skill with the steering wheel is often overlooked because of his teammate, the reigning World Champion Max Verstappen. But Perez has made sure to let people know that he is just as able as Max for being a Red Bull driver by clinching the race-winning title at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Sergio Perez has been confirmed as a Red Bull racer for another two years
With the new contract in place, the Mexican will be driving for Red Bull for the next couple of years. This news has come right after Sergio Perez won the Monaco Grand Prix, and has made all his fans overjoyed.
Commenting on Sergio Perez’s contract renewal, Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner said, “He’s in this championship just as much as Max is. The difference between the two of them is 15 points now, it’s nothing, so it’s a long way to go in this championship.”
