“Stop crashing now” Christian Danner defends Guenther Steiner following his warning to struggling Mick Schumacher

Christian Danner on Mick Schumacher crashes.

Christian Danner, former Formula 1 driver, talks over the crashing Mick Schumacher everyone has witnessed this season. Mick has been the star boy for Haas in 2021 and at the start of 2022 but has let his team down his season. He still has to score his first career points and has yet to show his potential if he wants to drive for the big teams.

Mick has already been warned by Gunther Stiner, Haas’ team principal, to avoid as many crashes and damages as he could, due to the decreasing budget cap threat posed to the team. Christian Danner understanding the situation praises Mick and at the same time talks about his team boss firing him the moment he committed the same mistake.

“That message to him was high time. It’s best for the boss to say after the chassis has been completely written off twice: ‘Dear guy, stop crashing now’.” pointed Danner at Jeddah and Monaco.

Kevin Magnussen has been outperforming his Haas over the 2022 season. Kmag was hired again after the exit of Nikita Mazepin before the season started, and he has already proven his worth scoring 15 only points for the team. Mick on the other hand has managed no points in the same car and is much slower and careless than his teammate.

Danner raced in Arrows in 1986, he talked about the anger his boss might have thrown over his performance and said Gunther is still calmer. “I would have been fired immediately,” Danner said. “Mick is a good driver with Formula One qualities, but if you regularly wreck your car and are a second slower than your teammate, you are not attractive to the teams.” he concluded.

Haas is currently in the 8th position of the championship, with the 25 points Kevin solely managed to score. Mick is the only driver other than Nicholas Latifi to score no points this season.
