Charles Leclerc’s weakness in the past: “He had anger issues”
Charles Leclerc claimed his second victory of the season in the 2022 Australia GP. The Ferrari driver extended his lead in the Drivers Championship in first place with 71 points. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez finished second. Meanwhile, George Russell claimed his first podium finish as a Mercedes driver as the Briton finished 3rd in the race.
Leclerc achieved his first F1 grand slam in his career and the first for Ferrari in 12 years. He started the race in pole position and since then went unrivalled for the rest of the race. But the Monagesque was struggling with temper as a kid.
Riccardo Ceccarelli notes that he had put in a lot of effort in the championship leader. He revealed that Charles’s anger issues made him more competitive and how he overcame it is commendable.

Riccardo Ceccarelli says Charles Leclerc couldn’t manage his anger as a kid
Riccardo Ceccarelli, the head of Formula Medicine saw Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc at a young age. Although Ceccarelli saw Leclerc’s talent at the time, he also recognised that he needed to develop in a number of areas in order to reach the top, namely his anger issues.
“Charles couldn’t handle his anger. That was his weak point,” Ceccarelli says in an interview with Il Foglio. “We worked a lot on that and I think you can see the results. The perfect driver is a seemingly calm person with a killer instinct.”
Ferrari is on course to cement their lead on the championship as Leclerc claims their and his second win of the 2022 season. And the Scuderia, comfortably sit on top of the Constructor’s championship with a 49 point lead on Mercedes in second place. Leclerc leads the drivers’ championship by 34 points which is more than anyone did during any point in the 2021 season. And the Italian team will be looking to increase their advantage with another strong performance in Imola for the Emilia Romagna GP on April 22-24.
