The life of a Formula 1 driver is undeniably fast-paced and demanding. Their constant globe-trotting to partake in races demands significant personal sacrifices, particularly in maintaining a life beyond the racing circuit. In the rare instances when these drivers manage to carve out some leisure time, its value cannot be overstated.
Charles Leclerc, for instance, has discovered a compelling interest outside the realm of Formula 1—music. The release of his new single MON23 marks the third musical endeavor by Leclerc, building on his initial piano-centered release following the Australian Grand Prix. The decision to record MIA23 (1:2), his second song track stemmed from the enthusiastic reception of his fans after he shared it in an Instagram story post.
His first single, ‘AUS23 (1:1)’, has impressively garnered more than 3.1 million plays. This project not only reflects Leclerc’s current engagement but also holds the potential to evolve alongside his Formula 1 career and even extend beyond it. Despite the pandemic, the 25-year-old Formula 1 driver continues to pursue his musical passion. He draws inspiration from his racing experiences, evident in track titles derived from visited race locations.

Charles Leclerc’s music draws mixed reactions

Upon revealing his third single, “MON23,” the Ferrari driver ignited a wave of positive reactions on X (formerly Twitter). Given the substantial fan support his music has garnered since the beginning of the year, it’s safe to anticipate that “MON23” will receive an equally enthusiastic reception.
One user suggested that fans might need professional assistance after the release of Charles’ song. Their Tweet read, “therapy bill is growing more expensive.” While another user highlighted the melancholy vibes of the song. “MON23 WHY IS IT SO SAD, DEPRESSIVE AND DRAMATIC?” A different user mirrored the same expression, “HOW DOES IT GET MORE DEPRESSING WITH EACH SONG.”
A different user suggested the “MON” in the title stands for Monaco, Leclerc’s home race. “Releasing another heartbreaking piano song and making it about monaco.” A user also accused Charles Leclerc of ripping off his piano composition. “MON23 (1:3) by charles leclerc sounds like it’s been copied from somewhere?” Another fan sees the new song as a summer distraction, “The perfect surprise during the F1 summer break.”
Leclerc’s primary aim is conquering Formula 1 for the World Champion title. Although he showed promise in early 2022, he and Ferrari are resolute in reclaiming lost ground. The 2023 season spotlights Red Bull’s escalating dominance, having clinched the previous year’s double title from Ferrari.
