“They can fight back at any point,” Mark Webber backs Mercedes to make a comeback

Mark Webber

Mark Webber, a former Formula 1 driver, urged teams to no count Mercedes out of the championship yet. Mercedes are the team with 8 successive titles to their name with 7 drivers’ title. Webber thinks the Silver Arrow can bounce back anytime as the team has already shown considerable difference since the start of the season. Spain was one of the major jumps the regaining Constructor champion had this season.

Porpoising is the effect Mercedes has been troubled by the most, the jumping of the car has left the drivers with very less car control and pace loss. The new regulations haven’t been kind to the team, they are lacking more than three-tenths of the top team. But the team managed to close the gap to a noticeable margin as they entered the Spain arena, with minimum bouncing to their car.

“They’ve come off the back of an incredible run, world championship after world championship, now, they are struggling even to get podiums at this point,” Mark analysed as a part of Channel 4.

“Obviously it’s a big shift in their winning mentality mindset, it’s not happening for them, the car is clearly not performing under these new regulations. So they’ve got a mountain to climb, but you never underestimate them, they can fight back at any point.” Mark said

Lewis Hamilton back ache due to W13.

Lewis Hamilton is not having the best of his seasons, he has been struggling to keep his pace on pace on many weekends. He has only one podium to his name his season, with a few races outside points or with minimum points. The credits for his poor performance go to the Bouncing W13 he is having trouble keeping up with. After the Baku Grand Prix, the world witnessed Lewis’s reaction to the severe backache he had while driving on the streets.

George on the other hand has been throwing out results with the best form we have seen throughout his career. He has now managed to finish all his races in the top 5 with 3 podiums to his name and has bashed his teammate 7 out of 8 times this time around.

“Russell is outperforming Lewis at the moment, so it’s a little bit in-team in terms of trying to keep Lewis happy as well,” Webber stated.

Russell has 99 points to his name whereas Lewis just has 62 and is P6 in the Championship table, 2 places below his teammate.
