The success of the very first Miami Grand Prix has only built expectations surrounding the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix next season. The Miami Grand Prix exuded luxury and elegance with sky-soaring ticket prices which were very quickly sold to the masses upon release. We’ve listed 3 major reasons why the Miami Grand Prix was a massive success in this article.

1. Greater broadcasting of the Miami GP has launched the sport into the public eye

A star studded affair only means greater publicity as journalists and photographers lined up the stands to capture glimpses of the drivers interacting with their favourite celebrities. Ranging from NBA star Michael Jordan to Manchester United legend David Beckham to NFL household name Tom Brady, they all made it a point to be captured with 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. The union of such legends from different sports has led other fanbases to start liking the idea of Formula One and to take a keen interest in it.

2.Carlos Sainz has discovered a push button from which he can recover

After exceeding the limit earlier than usual in the weekend, Sainz put together a solid qualifying lap to start behind his teammate, indicating the beginnings of a restoration. While he was quickly defeated by the fast-starting Verstappen, despite nursing a bad neck  already witted himself trying to climb through a deficit in the fence, Sainz held P3 at the flag after keeping Perez behind. Sainz is still a long way behind his teammate. Leclerc’s fastest lap was three tenths faster. However, the merger in Miami provides Sainz with a forum to restore and build traction in order to at least offer greater coverage for Ferrari in the constructors’ championship.

3. Max Verstappen-Charles Leclerc’s battle will be a highlight this season

Verstappen’s duration studying the new Miami circuit was severely hampered by overheating issues in practice after he was hampered by a start concern in the Imola sprint. He then messed up his final Q3 hot lap, dropping him to the second row of the grid. But he quickly passed Sainz and then closed the 1.2s gap to Leclerc on Lap 9, allowing him to knuckle DRS beneath the relatively short final stretch and claim P1 into Turn 1. These close battles between Verstappen and Leclerc has proved to be a sight for the first 5 races of this season and we’re expecting more of it in the next races.
