The team previously known as AlphaTauri had recently rebranded into a controversial new identity as Visa Cash App RB on the F1 grid. The team’s new name had sparked various debates across the paddock whether such things should even be allowed under the regulations. Recently, VCARB boss Peter Bayer has commented upon the situation of the team’s new name and presented his perspective.

The VCARB name has been frowned upon by fans and multiple reputed figures in the paddock. People believe that such an ‘identity crisis’ can lead to even more commercialization of the sport. In addition to this, Bayer has now agreed with the complaints of the paddock and gave his opinion.

Racing Bulls is our company name in Italy. And we’ve been discussing, you know, the different options but we just felt that already as people, you know, as I said myself before, it’s a bit of a mouthful.

Peter Bayer said as reported by express.co.uk

The team’s boss knows that the name doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily and affirms that the name is a bit of a mouthful. Subsequently, Bayer didn’t anticipate anyone to be calling themselves with the whole name. Moreover, the Austrian was convinced that people would find an acronym to refer to the team (like VCARB). However, the rage against the radical rebrand of the team has now cooled off and the fans are waiting eagerly for the race in Bahrain.

We believe we can do better than eighth. If people are expecting an Aston (Martin) and (Fernando) Alonso (situation) from last year, and fighting for a podium from race one, we’re obviously not there yet.
Daniel Ricciardo said as reported by grandprix247.com

The Aussie spent the first half of the year on the bench in 2023. Subsequently, the 34-year-old wants to return to his old form while leading the team. Ricciardo shared that he expects the team to be at least better than eighth in terms of performance. Also, the team have gained considerable momentum towards the end of the year and would not let that go in vain.

Moreover, the team and Ricciardo are now in the front seat before the inaugural race. The team is speculated to be ramping up production and would be on par with various midfielders. However, we would have to wait for the inaugural race this Saturday. To be able to form a clear picture and decide whether the team are the rumoured dark horse or not.
