Andrea Stella has been recently given the top seat on the McLaren F1 Team, as he has been appointed as the Team Principal, after the departure of Andreas Seidl.
There is a lot of excitement around the appointment of Andrea Stella, and he has indicated that he is up for the task at hand at McLaren. Moreover, he has also revealed that he would bring significant improvements to the team.
Stella has worked at McLaren for several years, and after his recent promotion to the role of Team Principal, Stella has said, “In terms of areas of opportunities, I think we would definitely like to make a step forward in delivering a quick car.“
“Some of the reasons why we haven’t been able to do that so far, we know they are quite structural.”
The 51-year-old knows the Woking-based team in and out, and thus, already has a slight idea of the changes that the team requires in order to make a step forward for next year.
Andrea Stella wants to make McLaren stronger on the aerodynamics side of F1
The last few days have changed the whole landscape of F1, and Stella who has now found himself leading the McLaren team is fully-prepared to do everything that is necessary.
Moreover, while dwelling over McLaren, he further added, “Completing this business is one of my priorities. At the same time, we want to make some areas of the team stronger. We know it is fundamentally an aerodynamic game.”
“No surprise is one of the areas we want to get stronger is on the aerodynamic side. We have incredible talent there that we possibly need to expand. That’s also one of the projects ongoing.”
Andreas Stella has deemed “aerodynamics” as an area where the papaya-colored team needs improvement and considering the wealth of experience that he has got in F1, it would not come as a huge surprise if there are significant changes on McLaren’s car for the next year.
However, it is not going to be a walk in the park to get the team fighting at the north end of the grid in 2023. Would Andreas Stella be able to deliver a stronger livery for next year?
