The Haas F1 Team scored impressive results during the start of the 2024 F1 season. The American squad scored points in two out of the first three races and hence gained a comfortable lead over rival teams. Following double points at the Australian GP, Ayao Komatsu was spotted enjoying a fun activity. Komatsu’s leadership of the American constructor has been working out well, as evident from the results.

Ayao Komatsu has a great love for boxing as a leisure activity. The Haas F1 Team scored double points in the Australian GP for the first time since Austria 2022. Hence, this was a great feat for the team as well as the team principal. As a result, Komatsu enjoyed a sparring kickboxing session to relax after the Melbourne race.

The video of Ayao Komatsu hitting the pads was uploaded on Haas’ X page. However, much information isn’t available about the leisure activity of the team principal. Anyhow, it is safe to assume that the Japanese team boss has an obvious love for boxing, keeping in mind his nationality as well. The sparring partner was also another Haas crew member, who also presumably had boxing practice.

Ayao Komatsu delighted for Haas’ first double-point finish since 2022

The Haas F1 Team had a mediocre run in the past two seasons. As a result, Ayao Komatsu was delighted to have both cars score points at Albert Park. However, the American team expected to have a better pace during the race. Regardless, scoring double points was better than expected according to the team principal.

It was a great day with a double points finish, the first time since Austria 2022. Especially after yesterday’s qualifying, I said we expected to have a better race pace. But to be able to get double points is better than expected, so it just goes to show that you need to be there.
Komatsu said, as reported by lastwordonsports.com.

However, the 48-year-old was not hesitant to accept how the race weekend was ‘imperfect’ for the team. As a result, there were a few things that the team would need to improve on. Anyhow, both drivers drove brilliantly and delivered when things were critical. Hence, the team principal was ‘very happy’ after a great finish at the Australian GP.

It wasn’t perfect today, so there’s some things that we need to improve, but overall, I’m so happy for the team. Both drivers drove a brilliant race, and the pit stop crew, when it was critical, they delivered. They got our drivers out in front of the competition. What a great team effort, I’m very happy.
Komatsu noted.

The Haas F1 Team could potentially eliminate competition from the bottom order of the team if they continue to score such points. The team has definitely improved under Komatsu’s leadership. Hence, time will tell about how the American constructor keeps up with upgrades down the season. Regardless, the crew would enjoy scoring the double points before the next race in Japan.
