Formula 1 drivers are often considered some of the greatest athletes. F1 drivers need to have instant reactions as they drive at 200mph just inches away from barriers. Now, FC Bayern Munich’s legend goalkeeper Manuel Neuer tried his hands at the F1 driver reflex test, going head-to-head with teammate Sven Ulreich.
The test was posted on FC Bayern’s official Instagram handle. It involves two tennis balls that are dropped, with one ball being dropped randomly. The person taking the test must catch the ball before it drops on the ground. Neuer went first with Ulreich dropping the balls.
The 37-year-old had a rough start as he missed the first two attempts. Ulreich asked if he wanted to remove his gloves. However, both keepers decided to continue the test with the gloves. Manuel Neuer ended the test with two successful catches out of five. With both players bursting into laughter.
Ulreich faired better than his legendary teammate in the F1 driver reaction test. The 35-year-old managed to get three consecutive catches from the get-go, making him the winner of the test. Although, Manuel Neuer decided to drop both balls together in a bid to make his teammate fail once. Nevertheless, Svan Ulreich won the F1 driver reflex test with four catches compared to Neuer’s two.
Manuel Neuer might be one of the many fans waiting for the return of German F1 drivers to the top
Formula 1 has had a history of successful German drivers. Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, and Nico Rosberg have been crowned F1 champions within the past two decades. However, a German driver has failed to win a race at the pinnacle of motorsport since the 2019 Singapore GP, won by Vettel.

Manuel Neuer certainly seems to be interested in Formula 1 after trying to do the F1 driver reflex test. Subsequently, Neuer would be hoping that a German could once again emerge victorious in F1. Presently, Nico Hulkenberg is the only German racing at the pinnacle of motorsport. Although, Hulkenberg is less likely to win a race for now considering the performance of the Haas F1 team.
However, Hulkenberg might have options for a better F1 in the future. Audi’s entry into F1 in 2026 opens the perfect opportunity for the German driver to finally race at the front of the grid. Although, Manuel Neuer and German F1 fans would have to wait to see how things pan out for Nico Hulkenberg and Audi.
