The 2023 F1 season is currently at a halt because of the ongoing summer break, and the fans in China, have welcomed back Zhou Guanyu with open arms. The Chinese starlet is back in his country after a while, and the people there have been going mad ever since. Shanghai has been the most recent place where Guanyu has received immense love.
Zhou Guanyu is the first and only Chinese driver to have been able to make it into Formula 1, and the fans in China are immensely proud of everything that he has achieved so far. Moreover, the 24-year-old has also shown his gratitude for the love that he has received since landing in his home country.
Guanyu via his Twitter handle has shared a wholesome video in which the fans and he can be seen having a great time in each other’s company. While the Chinese driver has brought a lot of smiles to the faces of the fans in his country, his video will surely spread even more smiles all across the globe.
The Alfa Romeo driver has so far proved to be a well-mannered racer who has always been kind toward his team and also toward the various other F1 drivers. Moreover, the way he has carried himself so far, he is quickly making a reputation for being one of the most liked drivers on the current Formula 1 grid.
Zhou Guanyu is on the brink of extending his F1 deal with Alfa Romeo
While Zhou Guanyu is currently having the time of his life in China, more positivity is expected to flow during the upcoming days/weeks. It was recently reported that Alfa Romeo is happy with what Zhou has produced so far in the 2023 season and, because of this, is willing to offer him a contract extension.
The Chinese starlet’s current F1 deal is coming to a close at the end of this year, but it seems he will be able to prolong his stay at the pinnacle of motor racing by at least one more season. The Hinwii-based team views Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu’s combination as a solid one for them in the long run.
The ongoing campaign is 13 rounds down and still has several races remaining on the F1 calendar. Alfa Romeo’s C43 has not proved to be a potent car so far, and considering this, the fans of the team are going to expect some positive sparks from Guanyu and Co. from Zandvoort onwards.
