Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most light-hearted drivers on the track who always keeps a smiling face. Known for his mischievous shenanigans on and off the track, he was most recently seen in Zandvoort parading around dressed as a pastry chef.
Ricciardo was first seen buying a stroopwafel, Dutch biscuits, from a pastry vendor. In the video, he said that he would save that treat for himself till after Sunday, after the race. But not long after, he was spotted eating that same biscuit wholeheartedly. To add more to it, he was spotted after a few hours wearing an apron and walking around the track with a tray full of stroopwafels.
While Ricciardo is under immense pressure to perform after his predecessor’s brutal firing, along with his aim to drive for Red Bull in the near future, the Australian has shown no signs of pressure catching up to him. Incidents like this are a major reason Ricciardo has amassed such a massive fan following throughout his F1 career.

Daniel Ricciardo states his wish to move up to the ‘big team’

Ricciardo made a sensational return to F1 in Hungary following the axing of Nyck de Vries. Even though Ricciardo managed to get a seat in F1, it is not enough for him as the Australian has time and again made it clear that he wishes to race for Red Bull, not AlphaTauri. He again reiterated this desire of his ahead of the Dutch GP, speaking to Sky Sports.
Ricciardo said that he wants to end his career with Red Bull and will not be looking to move away from them anytime soon. He said he has grown a lot in the past six months and still has a point to prove. He also noted that his experience helped him not fall into negativity during his tough times.
“I made it clear to, let’s say the big boys, that now I’m back in the Red Bull family, it’s the only place I want to be, to stay… The dream is to get back to the big team. But if it’s not that, then I want to be here…There isn’t too much pressure. I feel that I have a point to prove. But I’m not carrying too much weight with that,” Ricciardo told Sky.
