Daniel Ricciardo is back on the F1 grid. The Australian driver returned to the paddock at the US GP after suffering a wrist injury a few weeks ago. The 34-year-old is highly motivated to showcase his pace in the remaining rounds of the 2023 season. Now, Ricciardo has opted for a brand new look for the Mexican GP.
The Honey Badger seems to have taken inspiration from F1 legend Nigel Mansell for a mustache this weekend. Some fans might even recall Sebastian Vettel‘s similar look from a few years ago. The 34-year-old mentioned that he wanted this look for the race in Mexico City. However, it seems that Ricciardo might be eager to have it for the rest of the season as well.
It’s nice huh? I actually really like it. I think I will keep it. I wanted to do it just for Mexico. But when I looked in the mirror this morning I said 10/10. Still really good looking. So maybe its a full time look, let’s see.
Daniel Ricciardo told @AlphaTauriF1 on Twitter
Certainly, Daniel Ricciardo‘s mustache will catch the eyes of fans in the paddock. The Australian driver is full of energy heading into this weekend despite having an underwhelming result at COTA. Although, it remains to be seen if Ricciardo’s new look can bring in some luck at the Mexican GP.
Fans divided over Daniel Ricciardo’s mustache
Fans on Twitter were quick to share their views. Many users appreciated Ricciardo’s new mustache. One fan hoped that AlphaTauri could have him keep this new look for the rest of the season. The fan wrote, “Please convince him to keep it.” While another user reckoned that the new look would suit the Australian perfectly if he races for Red Bull in 2024. The user replied, “New look in 2024 when he will drive for Red Bull.”

On the other hand, one user claimed that only Daniel Ricciardo could manage to pull off such a mustache. The user commented, “This man can make anything look good, really.” However, another fan made it clear that they would shave the mustache off themselves if the Australian decides to keep it. The fan said, “I will personally come and shave it off when he’s sleeping.”
