Formula 1 racers often come off as some superhuman beings who drive at speeds north of 220 mph and lead lavish lives by traveling to exotic locations all around the world. But in reality, most of them are just some really talented men in their early or mid-20s who are incredibly competitive on the track but quite goofy and clumsy off of it. And to give a proof for this fact, the admin of the Mercedes official handle on X released a clip of George Russell from the Brazilian GP as he got ready for the Drivers’ Parade.
The Parade is a tradition upheld at every race in Formula One where the racers ride some classic cars to do a lap around the circuit while greeting their fans. Right before the Sao Paulo GP last Sunday, Russell got into his car for the Drivers’ Parade and decided to take his phone out. Unfortunately, the jet-black iPhone fell from his hands and tumbled down the side of the car and probably hit the ground. George Russell was aghast at the freak accident as his phone did not even have a cover to protect it.
Then, someone from his team picked Russell’s iPhone and gave it back fair and square. Seeing that the phone had not even gotten a scratch on it, Russell made an ‘OK’ sign with his hand and had a smug expression on his face. The hilarious video was posted on the Mercedes wall on X for the fans to see. They were shocked as the phone fell but found George Russell’s reaction hilarious.
Fans question George Russell’s hand-eye coordination as he clumsily drops his phone
Formula One requires every driver to have impeccable hand-eye coordination as they have to quickly change the controls of their car to suit the curves and crevices of the race track. As a recruit under one of the biggest F1 team, George Russell is indeed one of the most talented racers on the current grid. Still, as he clumsily dropped his phone from his hands during the Drivers’ Parade at the Brazilian GP, fans began jokingly questioning his skills as an F1 driver.

In other news, George Russell and his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton might struggle a lot at the upcoming Las Vegas GP. The race will take place in the night, when the temperature might drop below 5°C (41°F). This will make the Las Vegas GP the coldest F1 race in history. The drivers will face problems with warming their Pirelli tires for grip. It remains to be seen if the Silver Arrows racers can overcome this problem and come out victorious on the other side.
