“We are totally, totally, oversubscribed,” Christian Horner on the inaugural Miami GP hype

Red Bull returned to winning ways in Imola, as Max Verstappen brought his RB-18 in what turned out to be his second win of the season. Sergio Perez has continued his impressive form in the early part of the season, as he finished P2 for a second consecutive race.
Red Bull have had three DNF’s in the first three races of the season. Max Verstappen faced issues in Australia and in Bahrain, whereas, Sergio Perez faced reliability issues in Bahrain, as well. However, Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner remains optimistic about the future, and believes that the team have gotten on top of it’s reliability issues.
Moreover, Horner added that the problem with Verstappen’s car in Bahrain, was different as compared to the issue in Australia. The Briton stated that their dominant performance in Imola showed that they have put those issues behind themselves.
“We have understood those issues. The issue we had in Australia was different to the one we had in Bahrain. You can never say never but obviously it [the weekend in Imola] demonstrated that we have managed to get on top of the issue from Australia,” said Horner, as quoted by GPFans.
Christian Horner cannot wait to get started in Miami
The action now moves to Miami, which will host its first ever race. The Miami GP is one of the two races to be held in United States this year. Christian Horner appears to be pretty excited for the race, and has never seen such hype surrounding a race.
Moreover, the tickets have been completely oversubscribed, with a huge number of fans trying to get a glimpse of the action. “Miami is going to be super-cool. There’s a real hype about Miami. I’ve never known a race to have such high demand. We are totally, totally, oversubscribed. There’s a waiting list of hundreds of thousands of people trying to buy tickets that can’t get in,” said Horner.
Horner believes that the layout of the track in Miami is pretty simple, however it can prove to a tricky one for the drivers. “It’s an interesting track. It’s a simple layout but they tend to sometimes be the trickier ones. It’s got a huge straight so I think the racing will be good there and it will be great to see the cars in Miami,” he added.
Max Verstappen will look to cut down on the gap to Charles Leclerc, as Red Bull continue to chase down Ferrari in the constructors championship. These are still early days into the season, yet it seems we are poised for a Red Bull-Ferrari battle up top.
