“We can really get into our rhythm” Sergio Perez rejuvenated as he sets his sights on the upcoming triple-header

After a three-week break, Formula 1 returns this weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix. Season break is never easy for fans, but often, it is one of the only times in the year when drivers can truly relax. Of course, they wouldn’t want to stay away for too long from their passion either. Rain is forecasted for this weekend’s qualifying and race, and everyone would be desperately hoping the rain isn’t like last year.

Red Bull come into the second half of the season with a massive lead over presumed title rivals Ferrari and currently sit 97 points ahead. Max Verstappen, after winning his first world championship last season, also looks good for the title on his current form, with 80 points separating him from Charles Leclerc.

Just 5 points behind Leclerc, is Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez. The Mexican has had a much better time of it this year and is currently only 17 points adrift of his entire points tally for the 2021 season. While the form seems to have fallen away with car development and Verstappen getting to better grips with the car (which initially was reported to not suit him), Perez still has an important role to play.

Sergio Perez has ticked a few boxes for this season. He got the third win of his career, and the first pole position. Not only that, but his win was at the most prestigious and iconic Formula 1 race – Monaco. The season restarts again in 2 days, and Perez is very much looking forward to getting back on track.

As reported by GPBlog, he said: “It has been a good break and I have really recharged for the second half of the season,” Perez said. “There are great races coming up, especially Belgium on a track that I always enjoy and the fans are always amazing there. I cannot wait to get back to work and see my team.”

After Belgium, the paddock will head straight to Zandvoort a week later, and then to Monza. Perez is completely okay with that fact: “I think it’s nice to start after the break with a triple header, where we can really get into our rhythm.”

Fans too will be incredibly happy to see Formula 1 back and starting with a triple header no less. With the inclusion of other, newer Grands Prix. The Belgian GP’s future is currently a bit uncertain, so everyone is looking forward to the race and hoping that it will not be the last one for some time.
