George Russell, just a few moments ago, secured the top slot for the Brazil GP and afterward, has sounded extremely elated about the result.

George Russell started the Sprint race from P3 on the grid, but despite this fact, was able to stay right on the tail of Max Verstappen and by the closing stages of the 24-lap dash, was able to breeze past the 2022 F1 World Champion.

Moreover, while dwelling on his outing after the race, Russell added, “It was incredible. We didn’t expect that we would have that much pace, but it goes to show all the hard work that everyone has put in and the progress we as a team has made. These last three races since Austin the car has been feeling really great.”

The Brit has applauded the effort that the Mercedes outfit has put in the recent races, and believes that the hard work of the team, has really paid dividends at the Interlagos Circuit.

Russell is ecstatic about starting the race from P1 tomorrow, and it is well-deserved after seeing the intense battle he had with Max Verstappen for the pole position.

George Russell’s pole at Interlagos has taken his tally of pole positions for the current campaign to two, and while it is not a lot, the significance of the pole at Interlagos is huge, considering that Mercedes has locked out the front row.

Just like Russell, his teammate, Lewis Hamilton also had a mega outing during the Sprint race and was able to make up a decent number of positions, and in the process of doing that, was able to get the better of Verstappen.

Carlos Sainz ended his outing in P2, but because of his 5-place grid penalty, Hamilton has moved to P2 and Mercedes has locked out the front row.

However, the race is going to be extremely challenging for the two drivers as Verstappen will do everything in his power to get the W and it would be up to the Mercedes duo to keep him at bay.

Considering George Russell is going to start tomorrow’s race from P1, would he be able to come away from Brazil with maximum points to his name?
