“We will see Mick back in 2023,” Former German racer not concerned about Mick Schumacher’s future in F1 despite speculations
Mick Schumacher
Mick Schumacher’s contract situation at Haas has become a hot potato in recent times and former F1 driver Timo Glock has given his thoughts on the dicey predicament.
Kevin Magnussen has got a deal in place at Haas for 2023 whereas Mick Schumacher is yet to secure a seat for next season. Moreover, the German is garnering interest from the lights of Alpine as well and it could be because of this reason that talks with Haas are not progressing at a faster pace.
The 2022 F1 season is 13 rounds down and the 23-year-old so far has managed to land his VF-22 in the Top 10 twice whereas his teammate Magnussen has done it five times.
At the moment, speculations are at an all-time high regarding the future of Schumacher and while it is believed that his entourage is talking to other teams in the background, Glock feels maybe Haas has also got some other plans.
While talking about it Glock said, “Maybe they need a driver who brings money. That would be a difficult position for Mick.”
Timo Glock is convinced that Mick Schumacher will be able to get a race seat for 2023
F1 is an unpredictable sport be it on the track or off it, moreover, after considering how Mick Schumacher’s 2022 season has panned out with Haas, Glock is convinced that his fellow countryman would be able to land a seat for next year.
Timo Glock sees a lot of potential in Mick Schumacher and feels as long as he is able to continue with his development in the right direction, the 23-year-old starlet will be just fine.
Glock further adds, “That is why I am convinced that we will see Mick back in F1 in 2023. We’ll have to wait and see where that will be, I’m curious myself. “
While the former German driver has shown a certain stance regarding the future of the current Haas driver, he is not 100 percent sure for which team Mick would ultimately drive for next year.
There are not many slots left on the 2023 grid and given that there are still nine races left in the current campaign, it seems the cat and mouse games have already begun between drivers and teams, and it will be fascinating to see how the shenanigans regarding Mick’s future will further develop.
