Williams F1 became the 3rd to team to reveal their 2023 livery. The Grove based team revealed their 2023 challenger in a short 20 minute stream on their website. The car was introduced by F1 journalist Will Buxton. Williams F1 is currently undergoing a monumental restructuring. The team has appointed a new Team Principal and will boast a fresh driver line-up for it’s 2023 challenge.

The team revealed the FW45 through a pre-recorded stream. Fans online appreciated the concise nature of the reveal after having experienced a longer than usual reveal by Red Bull Racing just a few days back. The stream started off with Williams instantly revealing the livery, which took many by surprise. Williams’ Junior drivers had a chance to introduce themselves following which Buxton interviewed Williams Academy driver Jamie Chadwick.

The main driver pairing of Logan Sargeant and Alex Albon were also interviewed, they talked about their childhood and junior career as well as their hopes and expectations from 2023. The launch event surprisingly concluded in just 20 minutes, this prompted several positive reactions from the internet. Alongside the livery, Williams also revealed their new list of partners. Strikingly, long-time McLaren sponsor, Gulf Oil has joined Williams for 2023 and beyond.

Fans express their appreciation of short launch event

Fans took to twitter to share their appreciation of the new livery as well as the brief reveal. The new livery is very similar to it’s predecessor, the FW44. Although minor changes include the employment of a matte color scheme as well as addition of new sponsor logos. Williams F1 describes the livery as an “evolution” of the FW44. The livery retains the brand visual cues which feature a contrasting diamond shape and flashes of red and blue, embodying the exciting new era of Williams Racing. 

Williams will have high hopes from 2023. With new leadership and renewed ambition, the team will be eager for an opportunity to return to it’s former glory. While the livery has not changed much from last year, Williams will be hoping for a drastic change in their results. Fans will witness if Williams have made a step forward when lights go out in Bahrain for the first race of the season.
